Returns & Refund Policy - Skincare Products
Purpose
This Refund Policy outlines the terms relating to consultation fees, deposits, surgical fees, cancellations, postponements, and refunds for patients of Dr Nathan Stewart’s practice.
This policy is intended to provide clarity and fairness to patients while recognising the significant resources, operating theatre time, staff allocation, and administrative costs associated with plastic surgery procedures.
Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or remedies that patients may have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable legislation.
Where required by law, refunds will be provided in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.
Consultation Fees
Consultation fees are payable at the time of the appointment.
Consultation fees are non-refundable, including where:
- A patient attends the consultation but chooses not to proceed with treatment;
- A treatment plan is discussed but not undertaken; or
- Further investigations are recommended.
Consultation fees may be refunded or credited at the discretion of the Practice in exceptional circumstances.
Surgical Booking Deposits
A deposit may be required to secure a surgery date.
Unless otherwise stated in writing, deposits are:
- Non-transferable to another person; and
- Applied towards the total procedure cost.
If surgery proceeds as scheduled, the deposit will be credited against the final surgical fees.
Patient-Initiated Cancellation or Postponement
More than 30 days before surgery
Where a patient cancels more than 6 weeks before the scheduled surgery date, the Practice may refund the deposit less any reasonable administrative costs already incurred.
30 days before surgery
Where a patient cancels between 6 weeks and 30 days before surgery, the Practice may retain the deposit to cover administrative, scheduling, and theatre-related costs.
Failure to Attend
If a patient fails to attend a consultation, procedure, or surgery without prior notice, consultation fees and deposits may be forfeited.
Medical Unsuitability or Surgeon Cancellation
If the surgeon determines that surgery should not proceed due to medical, safety, or clinical reasons, the Practice will review the circumstances and may refund fees paid, less any costs already incurred by the Practice or third parties.
If the Practice or surgeon cancels a procedure for reasons unrelated to the patient’s health or conduct, patients will be offered either:
- A rescheduled date; or
- A refund of fees paid for the cancelled procedure.
Cosmetic Surgery Cooling-Off Requirements
Where applicable under Western Australian law or professional standards, any mandatory cooling-off periods for cosmetic surgery will be observed.
Patients are encouraged to carefully consider all information provided before proceeding with surgery.
Refund Processing
Approved refunds will generally be processed within 14 business days to the original payment method where practicable.
The Practice may request supporting documentation before processing a refund.
Exceptional Circumstances
The Practice may, at its sole discretion, consider requests for refunds or fee waivers arising from exceptional circumstances, including serious illness, family emergencies, or other unforeseen events.
Supporting documentation may be requested.
