Thigh Lift Surgery Perth

Dr Nathan Stewart specialises in thigh lift and reduction surgery in Perth.

A thigh lift or thigh reduction surgery involves the removal of excess skin or fat from the thighs. Over time, genetic factors, weight fluctuations and ageing can all impact the thighs, which can make cause issues like skin irritation and chafing.

Thigh Liposuction

Liposuction is usually performed with a thigh lift surgery, helping to maximise the results of the thigh reduction procedure.

Why people choose thigh lift surgery:

  • Remove excess fat and skin from the thighs
  • Smoother and reshaped thighs
  • Reduced friction rashes
  • Create a firmer and tighter shape
  • Refine the contour of the thighs

Procedure Details: How Should I prepare for this procedure?

During your initial consultation, Dr Nathan Stewart will examine your skin, learn about your goals and expected outcome, and go through all of the potential risks involved with a Thigh Lift. We may or may not require pre-operative photos at the initial appointment.

You will be provided with a consultation letter after your appointment of the details discussed. This is very beneficial for our patients as a lot of medical information is given at the initial appointment, which can seem overwhelming at the time. Instructions such as; stopping any medication, ceasing smoking and risks involved will be provided to you.

How is a Thigh Lift performed?

A Thigh Lift is performed under General Anaesthetics and takes roughly 2-3 hours to be performed.

On the day of your surgery, you can expect the following;

  • Before the procedure, Dr Stewart will mark the areas that will be incised (whilst you are standing up).
  • Your Anaesthesiologist will talk you though the Anaesthetics.
  • Dr Stewart may make an incision in your groin, depending on the type of thigh lift you are having. The incision may extend down toward your knee.
  • Dr Stewart will remove the fat, trim away the excess skin and perform liposuction as required.
  • Suture help secure/anchor tissue deep in your thigh to support your new shape.
  • Before completing the procedure, Dr Stewart will close the incision in multiple layers of sutures.

What will my scars look like?

You will have scars from the thigh lift on the location where your surgeon has cut, this will more than likely be from the upper part of the inner thigh to the knee. Your surgeon will discuss his chosen approach during your initial appointment.

What will my recovery look like?

After a thigh lift you will wake up in recovery with your compression garments intact. Depending on your co-morbidities you may need to stay the night, but usual length of stay for this procedure is a Day Stay.

After having a general anaesthetic, you will need to have someone to drive you home, and look after you for the first 24 hours.

You will head home with pain killers, Dr Stewart’s mobile phone number and discharge papers from the hospital on what your recovery should look like in the coming week. Dr Stewart’s room will have already provided you with the recovery for the 4-6 weeks after surgery. You will also have your first post-operative appointment already organised with our Nurse.

Your thighs may feel sore and swollen for several days after surgery. It is important to follow Dr Stewart’s instructions strictly during this period.
